Borneo Oil’s gold mining pays off with 19,692 ounces worth RM100mil a strong proxy for gold婆罗洲石油金库增至1.96万盎司

THE steep rally in gold prices this year has helped to push up the shares of Borneo Oil Corp Bhd. 

Borneo Oil Bhd’s diversification into gold mining activities in Pahang has paid off, with its gold inventory currently worth some RM100mil.

At its July 22 close of 18 sen, the stock has outperformed the FBM KLCI with a 16% gain for the year, tracking the 25% increase in gold prices over the same period.

As at March 31, 2016, the group held 18,863 ounces in gold inventory valued at US$24mil or RM94mil (based on an ounce of US$1,280 and exchange rate of US$1 to RM3.9 then), according to the company.

Shares of the company are consistently among the most traded in terms of volume in recent months due to its nascent mining venture in Pahang which have already yielded a considerable amount of gold inventory.

The inventory rose to 19,692 ounces in April, it said in its latest monthly filing with Bursa Malaysia. At current price of US$1,262 an ounce and exchange rate of US$1 to RM4.05, the inventory is valued at slightly over RM100mil.

With spot gold now trading at around US$1,330 per ounce, the company’s total inventory is now estimated to be worth RM103.96mil.

Borneo Oil chairman Tan Kok Chor said the group had taken advantage of the surge in gold price to unload some of its gold inventories last year and reaped “handsome” profits.

As at end-June, Borneo Oil’s gold inventory amounts to 19,301 ounces, or about 600 kg.

In 2015, gold shot up to around US$1,285 per ounce from a low of US$1,050 per ounce.

In the quarter ended April 30, 2016, Borneo Oil, which also owns fast food restaurant chain SugarBun, reported a sharp jump in group pre-tax profit to RM7.6mil from RM525,000 a year ago as revenue soared to RM1.49bil from RM14.6mil

“The group holds the view that gold should be treated as a perpetual asset to back its shares and to be cashed only when there is profit or through the sale of it through gold convertibles.

Borneo Oil had attributed the substantial jump in revenue to the sale of gold investments, adding that the increase of inventory to 529 kg was due to investments in gold.

“The group is now studying how best it is to utilise this inventory,” added Tan in a yearly review of the company’s performance in the 2016 annual report.

However, there were few further details on the breakdown of its gold mining-related earnings in the company’s earnings announcement.

He said via wholly-owned subsidiary Borneo Oil and Gas Corp Sdn Bhd (BOG), the group produced some 27.35 kg of gold from its mining operations in Merapoh, Pahang, in the last financial year ended Jan 31, 2016.

“There is a lack of clarity as to how the company reported just RM6.9mil from its mining division despite the large revenue bump of RM1.48bil.

Noting that mining activities had progressed steadily in Merapoh, Tan said that during the year under review, most of the efforts had been spent on evaluating a massive presence of colluvial gold bearing soil and rocks.

“The exact nature of the so-called sale of gold investments has also not been disclosed in detail yet,” quips one analyst of a bank-backed research house.

“Intensive trenching, sampling and drilling is ongoing, and barring any unforseen circumstances, a resource report will be out in the near future,” he said.

The company said it had taken advantage of investing in gold for the past year in the belief that low gold prices were temporary as the precious metal was trading below the industry mining and production costs.

To recap, BOG was appointed by Champmark Sdn Bhd in March 2014 as its contractor to prospect and mine alluivial and lode gold on an exclusive basis in an area covering some 162 ha in Merapoh.

Later, BOG added two more mining leases in Bukit Ibam and Hulu Jelai, both also in Pahang, to its operations.

On the Bukit Ibam mine, Tan said some 1,200 ha had been mapped.

“A heap leaching pilot plant with full production capacity of 7,000 tonnes per cycle will be implemented once approval is granted for the process.

“We are confident we will recover more gold from this tenement and have set a realistic recovery target of 60% of gold from the gold bearing ores through a non-toxic leaching process,” he added.

While some may attribute the recent buying interest in the shares to speculation activity in penny stocks, particularly given the company’s vast share base of 2.37 billion, Borneo Oil has already secured some prominent backers in its ventures and is not short of cash at present.

Tan said Borneo Oil raised RM237mil from a rights issue last year, with the bulk of the proceeds to go into funding the exploration and mining of the alluvial gold.

From the proceeds, RM30mil is set aside for the purchase of mining machinery and equipment, RM15mil for exploration expenditure and some RM84mil for working capital for the mining activities within 30 months.

The Sarawak-based Hap Seng Group, which led by the Lau family patriarch Tan Sri Lau Cho Kun, is a major shareholder in the company through stakes held by several investment entities. Among them are Lei Shing Hong Securities Ltd and Victoria Capital Ltd, both of which are based in Hong Kong.

Collectively, the stakes amount to more than 40%, a part of which were acquired following a rights issue exercise in November last year which raised RM228.8mil for Borneo.

In the last financial year, the group’s gold and mining division recorded a sharp increase in revenue to RM60.9mil from RM34.4mil in 2015 while net profit rose marginally to RM7.7mil from RM7.5mil.

The company is investing in a ‘heap leaching’ plant to extract gold form the Bukit Ibam mine in Pahang following positive results of gold deposits from a six-month exploration activities.

The phase one exploration works has indicated inferred gold resources of 1,891.5 kg for Bukit Ibam. The gold resources are embedded in about 6.27 million tonnes of oxide and fresh ore.

Based on the company’s metallurgy tests, the oxide ore is suitable for the heap leaching process.

Borneo Oil said the proposed plant using “earth gold” in the leaching process had been approved by the Minerals and Geoscience Department.

Earth gold, according to the company, is a non-cyanide gold extraction agent which is environmental friendly and designed to replace sodium cyanide in the gold leaching process.

“The initial investment cost of the heap leach plant (project), including infrastructure works, is estimated to cost RM2.5mil, with an initial capacity of 7,000 tonnes per cycle.

“The plant is targetted to be completed by end of August and commercial operations will begin in September 2016,” Borneo Oil said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The mining operations is undertaken by wholly-owned subsidiary Borneo Oil and Gas Corp Sdn Bhd (BOG).

Bukit Ibam, which lies within the Peninsular Malaysia eastern gold belt that extends from the north of Kelantan to Johor, covers some 485ha, of which 187ha has been issued with a mining lease.

In March 2015,BOG entered into an exclusive production sharing agreement with HDL Global Sdn Bhd for a period of 20 years.

As of April 30, 2016, Borneo Oil said it had utilised about RM83mil from proceeds of RM228.8mil raised from a recent rights issue in gold mining operation and exploration works.

The expenditures included RM66.3mil on working capital for the mining operations, RM8.9mil on exploration works and RM7.7mil for the purchase of mining machinery and equipment.

A further RM22.3mil has been set aside for the purchase of more mining machinery and equipment, RM9.3mil for working capital and RM6.1mil for exploration works.

婆罗洲石油金库增至1.96万盎司

婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股）黄金库存，在4月走高至1万9692盎司，总值1亿64万7781令吉，显示出多元化至彭亨州金矿业务的策略奏效。

公司向马交所报备，根据目前每盎司1262美元的金价，以及4.05的令吉兑美元汇率水平，这批截至4月的库存价值2485万1304美元，或1亿64万7781令吉。

截至3月杪，黄金库存报1万8863盎司，依据每盎司1262美元金价和3.9的令吉兑美元汇率，当时的库存价值2414万4640美元，或9416万4096令吉。

婆罗洲石油主席陈国楚（译音）在2016年财报中指出，公司去年趁金价攀升时，售出了部分黄金库存，从而录得丰厚净利。

去年，金价从每盎司1050美元的低点，走高至每盎司1285美元。

他说：“我们认为，黄金应该被视为永久资产，来支持公司的股票，并在有利可图时脱售。”

此外，陈国楚表示，公司在彭亨州马拉坡（Merapoh）的矿物开采业务进展顺利，且在截至今年1月杪的财年，开采了27.35公斤的黄金。

另一方面，武吉依班（Bukit Ibam）矿场当中的1200公顷土地，已完成勘测，因此，一旦取得相关批准，一座具有7000公吨产能的堆摊浸滤厂房就会开始运作。

陈国楚有信心，通过这些无毒的浸滤程序，从矿石中开采出60%的黄金。

截至周五闭市时，婆罗洲石油以15仙挂收，起0.5仙或3.45%，成交量有7152万4100股。

中色金矿有限公司陆路运输不安全 直升机运送黄金

中色金矿有限公司（CNMC Goldmine Holdings）在此间索谷（Sokor）矿区设第二间解析、酸洗、冶炼与炭再生工厂，2013年11月启用两周后就生产66公斤黄金；预计新旧两厂2013年整年可产400公斤黄金，市值达1.2亿令吉。

该公司创办人及执行主席林祥雄教授表示，新厂所产出的66公斤黄金约市值1000万令吉。

他透露，若天气条件允许，加上目前的生产速度，料可在2013年11月与12月生产50至100公斤黄金产量。若以此数量计算，2013年整年黄金总产量有望达400公斤。

他说，截至2013年11月18日，2013年出炉的黄金总产量共310公斤，因此2013年杪达400公斤目标有望达成。在这之前，旧厂已经产出244公斤黄金，加上新厂过去两周的66公斤，总共310公斤。

他说，这个新工厂每天可生产2公斤至4公斤黄金。目前这个新启用的金矿开采区，每个月可两次通过直升机，把生产的黄金运载到吉隆坡。

落实前大臣聂阿兹意愿 丹州设现代化提炼厂

中色金矿有限公司是从2004年开始做市场调查及文书申请工作，至2007年5月16日正式在丹那美拉索谷投入作业。

在2004至2007年来，投资者投入资金，建设雄伟及现代化的提炼厂，符合丹州政府早前的承诺，同时也按照前任丹州务大臣拿督聂阿兹的意愿来规划与建设。

地理位置偏远的索谷，距离丹那美拉市区约50公里路程，由于山路颠簸，因此只有四轮驱动车可进入金矿地区。

无论如何，中色金矿有限公司终于2010年7月22日在前任大臣聂阿兹见证下，第一块重达2.975公斤的黄金终于出炉，当时黄金市价约值40万令吉。

开采至提炼艰辛复杂

中色金矿主要业务涉及黄金的勘探、开采以及后续销售用途的金锭的加工生产。

开采金矿是一项艰辛的工作，从挖采、破碎、池浸、载金炭、解析、酸洗至活金（金块），最后的结果是金条，惟有关金条只有80至85%的纯度，必须送到澳洲提炼，成为9999的黄金。

中色金矿有限公司之后在2011年10月28日在新加坡证券交易所上市，成为首家在新加坡第一上市的金矿公司，自上市后，中色金矿有限公司在去年初与丹州经济发展机构（PKINK）召开几次会议，谈到上市以来的矿区发展及建设工作，最后提呈接下来的未来5年，即2012年至2017年的发展计划。

报告中，该公司计划在这段期间投入3500万美元（逾1亿令吉）；当时有关公司已投入约2000万令吉，重点是在大堆浸建设与设备，包括其他挖掘器及卡车等。这个大堆浸所采纳的产金工艺最早发明自美国，后来让中国紫金矿业（ZijinMining）获取技术专利，并加以改进。

另外，丹州经济发展机构工程及地产部经理莫哈末萨阿都卡迪表示，中色金矿向来遵守政府的规则，甚至照顾四周围环境，因此政府对于他们的表现深感满意。

副大臣：部分盈利回馈人民 采矿贡献丹州发展

吉兰丹副州务大臣拿督莫哈末阿马希望中色金矿有限公司在采矿领域成为典范。

他说，丹州拥有许多天然资源，有助于促进丹州的经济发展；丹州政府将通过各项惠民政策回馈人民，除重视硬体建设，也重视人文与心灵发展。

他说，中色金矿有限公司所获盈利的8%，将分配予丹州政府5%及作为联营伙伴的丹州经济发展局3%。他说，在这之前，该公司已经累积缴付约2000万令吉予该州政府。

他2013年11月18日午见证中色金矿有限公司新厂生产10块黄金后在记者会上表示，该公司投入1000万令吉设新厂，以提高黄金产量。

莫哈末阿马说，根据该公司的报告，该公司2014年将生产800至1000公斤黄金。

他说，该公司之前是利用槽式浸取（vat leeching）方式提取黄金，并在中国的一家提炼厂提炼其他也是从丹州开采的矿物如锰及锌，而新厂则是以堆浸设施（heapleach facility）运作提炼黄金。

可望成黄金生产重地

他说，新厂在投入运作两周后就可生产66公斤黄金，因此州政府相信该公司可为丹州生产更多黄金，在大马黄金生产版图中占一席之地，与登嘉楼及彭亨并驾齐驱。

他说，丹州政府将鉴定适合开发的矿区，包括金矿及铁矿区等，并以公开招标方式，让有意开采的集团进军丹州采矿业，从而增加丹州的收入。

他说，索谷区是目前金矿开采活动最活跃的地段，中色金矿有限公司是该区最具规模的开采公司。在这之前，有意开采矿区的集团，是以书面申请方式向州政府申请矿区的开采权，如今丹州政府将改为公开竞标方式。

较早前致词时，莫哈末阿马也希望，该公司继续秉持对前任州务大臣拿督聂阿兹的承诺与教诲，在开采黄金时不破坏环境，同时着重人类与环境共存。

陆路运输不安全 直升机运送黄金

中色金矿有限公司动用直升机将生产的黄金运载出去，以保员工安全！

该公司执行主席林祥雄教授说，为了员工安全，接下来的黄金运输工作将使用直升机。

“此举也是我们对股东们的一项交代，而且使用直升机也较安全。”

他说，以前我们一直使用陆路交通工具把黄金运输出去，可是保险公司难以接受。

“经过考虑与研讨后，该公司决定将接下来生产的黄金，用直升机运去吉隆坡。”

在这之前，中色金矿有限公司曾发生有人非法潜入，导致其中一片土地约有64平方公尺地段被掏空深达5尺；目前该公司辖下地段已经加强保安，防止遭人潜入的事件重演。

获准彭亨5区采矿后婆罗洲石油展开掘金 BornOil to carry out mining works at five sites in Pahang

随着签下生产共享合约（PSAs）后，婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股），如今致力于转型为采金业者。

婆罗洲石油获准在彭亨5个占地1500公顷的地区开采金矿。

该集团执行董事张玖良（音译）表示，其中两地的基建及发展设施已经相当完善，不需承担额外成本，因此省却了在基设与开采前的资本开销。

他在一份声明中表示：“因此，我们节省了大量的资本支出，例如在基础设施和开采前的准备工作。”

谈起业务展望，张玖良表示，现在是进军金矿开采业大好时机，希望成为我国主要采金业者。


令吉贬值利好

他指出：“令吉汇价疲弱对我们非常有利，因为生产成本是以令吉计算，但是卖出的黄金是以美元计算。

金价2015年9月24日最近升至近6周来最高，成了投资者在全球汇率波动和不稳定股市中的“避险天堂”。


此外，张氏还估计，位于马拉坡（Merapoh）和武吉依班（Bukit Ibam）的冲积矿（Alluvial ores），分别拥有30万和50万吨冲积矿（Alluvial ores），再加上尾矿库存（tailing inventories）分别有170万吨和160万吨。


这些可用矿石或尾矿将使婆罗洲石油在未来3年保持忙碌，并继续通过上述2个矿场的勘探计划，来寻找坚硬的岩石矿脉黄金。

他透露：“一旦经由独立的第三方地质学家，对该冲积矿和尾矿的黄金含量进行初步评估及证实后，我们将会作出适当的公布。”

BornOil to carry out mining works at five sites in Pahang

BornOil executive director Raymond Teo said progress has been encouraging and that production sharing agreements secured are the start of bigger things to come.

"We are fast reinventing our company as a proxy for the Malaysian gold mining industry," said Teo.

From an operations perspective, he said the timing of the company's entry into gold mining couldn't be more ideal.

He said the weakening ringgit has worked in BornOil's favour as the direct cost of production has gone down (since production cost is incurred in ringgit).

To-date, BornOil has signed exclusive production sharing agreements to carry out mining works at five sites on 1,500ha in Pahang. The mining arrangements do not carry any acquisition cost as infrastructure and development facilities were already in place at the two sites.

As a result, BornOil saved a great deal on capital expenditure in terms of infrastructure and pre-mining preparations, said Teo.

Gold prices recently ran up to a six-week high as investors globally sought the commodity as a safe haven amid the backdrop of currency uncertainties and falling stock markets.

On August 2015, HSBC in a report predicted that the price of gold will rise by some 10% by the year-end to US$1,225 an ounce. Gold closed at US$1,135 an ounce 

Teo also estimates that there are low hanging fruits in the form of available alluvial ores of about 300,000 tonnes at Merapoh and 500,000 tonnes at Bukit Ibam, together with a combined tailing inventories of 1.7 million tonnes at Merapoh and 1.6 million tonnes at Bukit Ibam.

These available ores/tailings will keep BornOil busy for the next three years, while the quest for hard rock lode gold will continue through an exploration programme on both the areas, he elaborated.

Preliminary assessments have been conducted on the volume and grades of gold on both the alluvial and tailings and, once confirmed independently by a third party geologist, an announcement will be made by the company.

Meanwhile, BornOil shareholders have approved the company's renounceable six-for-one rights issue together with free detachable Warrants on the basis of one warrant for every two rights shares subscribed to.

大马职场安全与卫生局总监拿督佐哈里在去年杪亲自前往中色金矿直属子公司，中马矿业集团有限公司索谷矿区考察后在记者会上赞扬中色金矿，向工人们灌输安全意识，改变旧观念，让工人们意识到“安全第一”的重要性。

他说，工人安全健康受保障。

“想不到在丹州荒山旷野、群峰围绕的地方，竟然建设这么现代化的金矿生产工厂与设备，尤其是大堆浸的生产场地规模宏大，令人难以想象。更令人难以置信的是中马矿业集团的开采生产与劳工们积极工作表现，划一的工作制服与遵守条规，实施安全条款，严格执行矿区大环境的环保与卫生条件，令人惊喜。

婆罗洲石油再斥4千万 在彭第二个矿场淘金Borneo Oil to invest more in Pahang

婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股）放眼在彭亨的第二个矿场展开淘金活动，并为当地的矿业业务，再投资4000万令吉。

执行董事张玖良（译音）接受《星报》访问时指出，公司正在彭亨州武吉依班（Bukit Ibam）的地皮，进行清扫工作，而且相关设备也已经运送到当地，来开采冲积层（Alluvial）的金矿。

“这块地皮面积达1200公顷，潜在黄金藏量相当丰富，所以公司进一步在当地进行探勘与开采作业。”

另外，公司也委任了次级承包商，在立卑（Lipis）Mukim Batu Yon和Hulu Jelai森林保育区的地皮上，探勘和开采金矿。

“一旦探勘的评估报告出炉，我们将落实开采计划。”

张玖良补充道，额外投资中的3000万令吉，将用来购买机器和设备，其余的1000万令吉，则用作支付开采开销。

Borneo Oil Bhd, which is expected to commence gold mining activities soon in a second area in Pahang, plans to invest an additional RM40mil to step up its mining operations in the state.

According to executive director Raymond Teo Kiew Leong, land clearing is underway and mining equipment is being mobilised to facilitate the mining of alluvial gold and tailings at Bukit Ibam, Rompin district, in the current quarter.

“An extensive exploration and drilling programme is being planned for the area with regard to its lode gold potentials,” he told StarBiz.

(Alluvial gold deposit is formed as a result of transportation by water from weathered mineralised rocks and veins while lode gold deposit is formed in mineralised rocks and veins.)

Besides Bukit Ibam that covers 1,200ha, Borneo Oil group has been appointed the sub-contractor to carry out prospecting, exploration and mining of alluvial and lode gold on an exclusive basis in two other designated areas – Mukim Batu Yon (162.3ha) and Hutan Simpan Hulu Jelai (202.8ha) – both in Lipis district.

Borneo Oil, which owns home-grown fast food restaurant chain SugarBun with 86 outlets in Malaysia and abroad, diversified into gold mining activities to broaden its revenue base last year.

The group is carrying out alluvial gold mining and exploration activities in Mukim Batu Yon.

Teo said the on-going exploration works for Hulu Jelai area had covered 25% of the tenement and this was expected to extend to entire tenement by first quarter-2016.

“A working plan will be drawn up for implementation if the analysed results from the exploration are positive,” he added.

Teo said the planned additional investment, comprising RM30mil for the purchase of mining machinery and equipment and RM10mil in exploration works, would come from the proceeds of a proposed rights issue currently being implemented by Borneo Oil.

The company has in April proposed a renounceable rights issue of up to some 2.37 billion rights shares on the basis of six rights shares for every one existing share held, together with up to nearly 1.19 billion free detachable warrants on the basis of one warrant for every two rights shares subscribed for.

The proposed exercise would raise up to RM237mil, of which RM77.8mil would be allocated as working capital for the gold mining operation. Borneo Oil’s major shareholders Victoria Ltd (with stake of 25.48%) and Hap Seng Insurance Services Sdn Bhd (16.72%) have provided irrevocable undertakings to fully subscribe their entitlements under the proposed fund raising exercise.

The group has utilised about RM9.4mil from the proceeds of a private placement last October for the purchase of new mining plant and equipment (RM4.4mil) and exploration activities (RM5mil).

It started alluvial gold mining and exploration activities in Mukim Batu Yon a year ago following its appointment as the sub-contractor by Champmark Sdn Bhd.

The mining area was contracted to Champmark by MMC Corp Bhd, which has leased it from Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Pahang on a sole and exclusive rights basis to carry out the prospecting and mining of minerals.

“Although gold prices have not been performing well in the past year, the company still holds a long-term bullish view of the precious metal as gold will be a more pronounced feature in determining values and collateral in the near future,” Teo said.

He said while the group would expand its limestone mining activities in Sabah, it was currently studying the feasibility of venturing into the more profitable downstream operation. The group owns about 158ha of limestone mining area in Ulu Segama, Lahad Datu.

From the proceeds of the proposed rights issue, Borneo Oil intends to utilise RM10mil for the purchase of additional plant and equipment and RM8mil for working capital of the limestone operation.

他说，截至昨天（18日），2013年今年出炉的黄金总产量共310公斤，因此年杪达400公斤目标有望达成。在这之前，旧厂已经产出244公斤黄金，加上新厂过去两周的66公斤，总共310公斤。

他说，这个新工厂每天可生产2公斤至4公斤黄金。目前这个新启用的金矿开采区，每个月可两次通过直升机，把生产的黄金运载到吉隆坡。

林祥雄昨天在中色金矿有限公司直属子公司———中马矿业集团有限公司在索谷矿区第二间工厂开幕仪式后，在记者会上如是表示。

该公司也邀请丹州务大臣拿督阿末耶谷出席主持仪式，由于大臣有要事在身，改由副大臣拿督莫哈末阿马代表出席。

出席者也包括丹州行政议员拿督仄阿都拉、丹土地及矿物局副局长占里依斯迈、丹州经济发展机构工程及地产部经理莫哈末萨阿都卡迪、丹那美拉县副县长莫哈末诺、中色金矿执行副主席朱治光、中色金矿执行董事和执行总裁林国扬、中马矿业副总经理林光辉等人。

落实前大臣聂阿兹意愿 丹州设现代化提炼厂

中色金矿有限公司是从2004年开始做市场调查及文书申请工作，至2007年5月16日正式在丹那美拉索谷投入作业。

在2004至2007年来，投资者投入资金，建设雄伟及现代化的提炼厂，符合丹州政府早前的承诺，同时也按照前任丹州务大臣拿督聂阿兹的意愿来规划与建设。

地理位置偏远的索谷，距离丹那美拉市区约50公里路程，由于山路颠簸，因此只有四轮驱动车可进入金矿地区。

无论如何，中色金矿有限公司终于2010年7月22日在前任大臣聂阿兹见证下，第一块重达2.975公斤的黄金终于出炉，当时黄金市价约值40万令吉。

开采至提炼艰辛复杂

中色金矿主要业务涉及黄金的勘探、开采以及后续销售用途的金锭的加工生产。

开采金矿是一项艰辛的工作，从挖采、破碎、池浸、载金炭、解析、酸洗至活金（金块），最后的结果是金条，惟有关金条只有80至85%的纯度，必须送到澳洲提炼，成为9999的黄金。

中色金矿有限公司之后在2011年10月28日在新加坡证券交易所上市，成为首家在新加坡第一上市的金矿公司，自上市后，中色金矿有限公司在去年初与丹州经济发展机构（PKINK）召开几次会议，谈到上市以来的矿区发展及建设工作，最后提呈接下来的未来5年，即2012年至2017年的发展计划。

报告中，该公司计划在这段期间投入3500万美元（逾1亿令吉）；当时有关公司已投入约2000万令吉，重点是在大堆浸建设与设备，包括其他挖掘器及卡车等。这个大堆浸所采纳的产金工艺最早发明自美国，后来让中国紫金矿业（ZijinMining）获取技术专利，并加以改进。

另外，丹州经济发展机构工程及地产部经理莫哈末萨阿都卡迪表示，中色金矿向来遵守政府的规则，甚至照顾四周围环境，因此政府对于他们的表现深感满意。

副大臣：部分盈利回馈人民 采矿贡献丹州发展

吉兰丹副州务大臣拿督莫哈末阿马希望中色金矿有限公司在采矿领域成为典范。

他说，丹州拥有许多天然资源，有助于促进丹州的经济发展；丹州政府将通过各项惠民政策回馈人民，除重视硬体建设，也重视人文与心灵发展。

他说，中色金矿有限公司所获盈利的8%，将分配予丹州政府5%及作为联营伙伴的丹州经济发展局3%。他说，在这之前，该公司已经累积缴付约2000万令吉予该州政府。

他昨午见证中色金矿有限公司新厂生产10块黄金后在记者会上表示，该公司投入1000万令吉设新厂，以提高黄金产量。

莫哈末阿马说，根据该公司的报告，该公司明年将生产800至1000公斤黄金。

他说，该公司之前是利用槽式浸取（vat leeching）方式提取黄金，并在中国的一家提炼厂提炼其他也是从丹州开采的矿物如锰及锌，而新厂则是以堆浸设施（heapleach facility）运作提炼黄金。

可望成黄金生产重地

他说，新厂在投入运作两周后就可生产66公斤黄金，因此州政府相信该公司可为丹州生产更多黄金，在大马黄金生产版图中占一席之地，与登嘉楼及彭亨并驾齐驱。

他说，丹州政府将鉴定适合开发的矿区，包括金矿及铁矿区等，并以公开招标方式，让有意开采的集团进军丹州采矿业，从而增加丹州的收入。

他说，索谷区是目前金矿开采活动最活跃的地段，中色金矿有限公司是该区最具规模的开采公司。在这之前，有意开采矿区的集团，是以书面申请方式向州政府申请矿区的开采权，如今丹州政府将改为公开竞标方式。

较早前致词时，莫哈末阿马也希望，该公司继续秉持对前任州务大臣拿督聂阿兹的承诺与教诲，在开采黄金时不破坏环境，同时着重人类与环境共存。

陆路运输不安全 直升机运送黄金

中色金矿有限公司动用直升机将生产的黄金运载出去，以保员工安全！

该公司执行主席林祥雄教授说，为了员工安全，接下来的黄金运输工作将使用直升机。

“此举也是我们对股东们的一项交代，而且使用直升机也较安全。"

他说，以前我们一直使用陆路交通工具把黄金运输出去，可是保险公司难以接受。

“经过考虑与研讨后，该公司决定将接下来生产的黄金，用直升机运去吉隆坡。”

在这之前，中色金矿有限公司曾发生有人非法潜入，导致其中一片土地约有64平方公尺地段被掏空深达5尺；目前该公司辖下地段已经加强保安，防止遭人潜入的事件重演。

1配6发附加股 2送1凭单 婆罗洲石油筹2.3亿采金附加股认购带动 婆罗洲石油价量齐升Borneo Oil’s rights issue of RM237m account for 80.7% of market cap

婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股）2015年4月27日建议，以每1股配6股附加股，以及每2股附加股送1免费凭单的比例，发行附加股和送凭单，扩展在大马半岛的黄金开采活动。已经2015年7月28日获得马交所批准。

根据文告，集团将发行高达23亿7384万1596股附加股，以及送出11亿8692万798张免费凭单。

假设以每股暂定发售价10仙计算，公司最低可筹集2亿2339万2000令吉，最高则达2亿3738万4000令吉。

婆罗洲石油表示，将会使用所筹集的资金用作黄金开采活动、购买相关机械和设备、黄金开采的营运资本、购买石灰岩开采营运的厂房和设备、石灰岩开采活动的营运资本、快餐业务的营运资本、未来投资、偿还债务等。

大股东Victoria私人有限公司和合成保险服务将会根据各别权限全面认购附加股。

刘楚群入股受瞩目

合成统一（HAPSENG，3034，主板贸服股）大股东兼亚洲马赛地大亨丹斯里刘楚群，在2014年下半年油价走跌期间，入股婆罗洲石油。这举动让沉寂已久的婆罗洲石油，再受到股友关注和热捧，股价强升。

婆罗洲石油蒙亏多年，截至2014年10月杪的财年第三季，才转亏为盈。

刘楚群如今成为大股东，更是为投资注入强心剂。

向来低调的刘楚群，是通过合成保险服务、利星行证券等，在2014年10月初首次入股，买进19.1%股权，成为婆罗洲石油大股东之一。

2014年10月27日，他通过旗下合成保险服务私人有限公司，以每股69.7仙，购入694万4600股，相等于2.47%股权。

他陆续多次出手，72仙时也购入1100万股；在11月底时已持27.31%，但在12月时又减持4.26%。

根据纪录，刘楚群目前持有婆罗洲石油23.05%，或6224万8000股。

料贡献逾25%净利

黄金开采活动表现加强，配合集资活动扩展开采业务，婆罗洲石油看好短期内占集团净利超过25%。

长期来看，集团希望能够成为国内和区域性黄金开采领域的主要业者之一，而最终目标则是持续扩展和加强该业务，为股东带来最高的回酬。

此外，婆罗洲石油的快餐连锁店Sugarbun持续在国内外扩展。

目前，国内外共有76家专营店，今年将会增加14家新的专营店，相信进一步提振集团净利。

随着黄金开采业务开始贡献，及快餐业务持续获得改善，董事局看好集团未来的展望。

2015年4月27日闭市时，婆罗洲石油以78仙挂收，微起0.5仙或0.64%，成交量有141万4000股。


附加股认购带动 婆罗洲石油价量齐升

投资者2015年10月9日认购附加股带动，婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股）2015年10月13日价量齐升，其中股价大涨4.5仙或30%。

该股以18仙开市，在购买动力下，盘中一度升至20.5仙。

不过，闭市前收窄涨幅，最后收在19.5仙，全日上涨4.5仙或30%。

同时，成交量则达4854万6400股，排在十大热门股第7位。

新股2015年10月19日上市

该批附加股将会在2015年10月19日（下周一）开始交易。

大马抽佣经纪协会主席黄峋理表示，由于投资者冲进市场购买附加股，使到股价走高。

Borneo Oil’s rights issue of RM237m account for 80.7% of market cap

Borneo Oil Bhd’s recent proposed rights issue could attract some attention as it plans to raise up to RM237.38mil -- accounting for 80.7% of its market capitalisation of RM294.1mil as at Wednesday.

Borneo Oil said on Monday the corporate exercise involved a right issue of up to 2.37 billion rights shares at an indicative issue price of 10 sen with up to 1.186 billion free Warrants C.

The rights issue would on the basis of six rights shares for every one existing share held and the free warrants would be one warrant for every two rights shares subscribed for.

For illustrative purposes, the indicative issue price of 10 sen per rights share was a discount of 41.11% to the theoretical ex-rights price (TERP) of 16.98 sen. This is based on the five-day weighted average market price of the  shares up to and including the last practical date of 79.80 per share.

Borneo Oil added that for illustrative purposes only, the exercise price of the Warrants C is assumed to be 10 sen, which is a discount of about 41.11% to the TERP of

Borne Oil shares of 16.98 sen.

Meanwhile, the funds raised are intended to be utilised for gold mining operations, limestone mining operations, fast food operations, future investments, repayment of borrowings and the estimated expenses with relations to proposed rights issue and warrants. 

However, the company added that the entitlement date for the corporate exercise would be determined later.

The company, in which substantial shareholders Victoria Ltd and Hap Seng Insurance Services Sdn Bhd own a combined 157.12 million shares, sweetened the cash call via the rights issue by issuing free warrants. So far Victoria Ltd, which owns 25.48%, and Hap Seng 16.72% have pledged to subscribe for the rights shares.

Hap Seng Insurance and Victoria Ltd’s entitlement would see them, forking out RM37.34mil and RM56.92mil respectively for the rights shares.

Based on the indicative issue price of 10 sen per renounceable rights shares, the minimum scenario is RM223.39mil and the maximum is RM237.38mil.

It plans to issue 2.373 billion new rights shares on the basis of six rights shares for every one share held. 

The indicative issue price of 10 sen per rights share is 41.11% to the theoretical ex-rights price shares of 16.98 sen, based of the last practical date of 79.80 sen per share.

It was trading at 80 sen which was at a price-to-earnings of 34.48 times.

Currently, Borneo Oil’s paid-up is 367.60 million and if all the shareholders take up the rights shares, the paid-up will balloon to 3.956 billion shares under the maximum scenario.

Borneo Oil plans to use the proceeds from the rights issue for gold mining, limestone mining, fast food operations, future investments and repayment of borrowings. The total cost of these operations would cost RM223.39mil to RM237.38mil.

To entice shareholders, it announced 1.186 billion free detachable warrants C on the basis of one free warrant C for every two rights shares subscribed. 

Upon full exercise of the Warrants C based on the indicative exercise price of 10 sen per

Warrant C is about RM111.70mil under the minimum scenario and about RM118.69mil under the maximum scenario.

Borneo Oil plans to use the gross proceeds from the exercise of the Warrants C as additional working capital of Bornoil Group. The proceeds may be used to pay salaries, repay trade creditors as well as general expenses.

As of Jan 31, 2015, the total borrowing of the company was RM21.14mil.

婆罗洲石油偕HDL全球 彭亨发展机构探勘及开采金矿Borneo Oil signs 20-year mining deal with HDL and PKNP

婆罗洲石油（BORNOIL，7036，主板贸服股）与HDL全球有限公司，将合作在彭亨州武吉依班（Bukit Ibam）进行稀有金属与矿物，包括金矿的勘探工程。

该公司向马交所报备，独资子公司婆罗洲油气机构，已与HDL全球有限公司签署生产共享合约（PSA），携手在武吉依班面积达1200公顷的地段，进行矿物与稀有金属，包括黄金的探勘、开采、提取、处理、行销、销售等工作。

在这项合约下，HDL全球将独家授权婆罗洲油气机构，在有关地段探勘，若发现资源如黄金，则将在6个月内开采。

HDL全球是在2010年5月，获彭亨发展机构（PKNP）颁发这项采矿工程，后者获彭亨州政府颁发矿物勘探执照。

婆罗洲油气机构必须分期支付500万令吉予HDL全球。

婆罗洲石油指出，探勘工作初期需要2000万令吉购置厂房设备，另外也需1200万令吉，作为金矿冲积层（Alluvial）营运资本。

可获60%净利

这项合作所取得的净利，婆罗洲油气机构可获60%，HDL全球分享40%。

婆罗洲油气机构也许将营业额的2.5%予霹雳发展机构，以及5%给予土质与矿物局。

闭市时，婆罗洲石油报88.5仙，下跌1.5仙或1.66%，成交量有330万8900股。

Borneo Oil signs 20-year mining deal with HDL in Pahang

Borneo Oil Bhd has inked a 20-year agreement with HDL Global Sdn Bhd to carry out mining works on 2,965 acres in Pahang.

Borneo Oil said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on 11 March 2015 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Borneo Oil and Gas Corp Sdn Bhd (BOG), had entered into an exclusive production sharing agreement with HDL to carry out “prospecting, exploration, mining, extraction, processing, marketing, sales and collection of sales revenue with respect to all minerals and precious metals, including gold”. The mining area is at the Hutan Simpanan Bukit Ibam, Mukim Keratong, in Rompin, Pahang.

Under the terms of the agreement, Borneo Oil said BOG would need to advance a total sum of RM5mil to HDL.

The company is allocating a budget of RM20mil for the plant and equipment, and an initial working capital of RM12mil for alluvial gold mining.

“In addition, BOG shall pay tributes of 2.5% to Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Pahang (PKNP) and 5% to Pejabat Tanah dan Galian based on sales revenue.

“The said mining area was contracted to HDL by PKNP on May 21, 2010. PKNP was granted approval by the Pahang state government a prospecting licence to carry out large-scale exploration of minerals in the mining area,” it said.
